About Us
Our History
Papkuil has been in the Gers family for four generations, we are extremely proud of the environmental heritage that has been passed down to us. In 1876 Julius Gers, the owner’s great grandfather bought the farm from Gert August. Julius later returned to Germany due to bad health. His son Adolph developed the farm into a trading post, sheep and horse farm.
The wide-open 37 000 acres (15 000ha) of unspoiled bushveld deserve our respect and reverence as custodians, a role which we humbly play. The family-run retreat combines tailor made leisure with personalized service. We have a safari ambiance along with luxurious accommodation, ensuring a memorable stay.
Papkuil is perfectly situated in private seclusion and is Malaria free. The lodge has stylish conference, special occasion and banqueting facilities. Some of the countries rarest yet most affordable, quality wines are cradled in our underground wine cellar, serving as a delectable reminder of this country’s bounty.
Our area is blessed with abundance. Known as the Green Kalahari, we enjoy wonderful grasslands, wildlife, warm summers filled with outdoor eating, activities and quality family and friends time, cold crisp winters next to the open log fire, fine cuisine and deep royal blue skies filled with stars all year round! For visitors to the Green Galahari, Papkuil Safari Lodge, offers superior, 4 star accommodation close to Postmasburg, Daniëlskuil and Lime Acres. Join us – we would love to introduce you to our life!!
